Course Overview

This course is 100% exercise. By the end of the 2-days, you should understand how to implement truly purposeful exercise with every patient you see.

  • Learn different exercise strategies to facilitate mobility in your patients.

  • Practice manually-resisted exercise for the trunk, neck, and extremities with feedback from instructors and attendees.

  • Develop a war chest of exercises to take patients from mobility to control to function.

  • Understand when and why you would implement various exercises in order to become better at individualizing your own prescriptions.

Tim Fearon, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Timothy Fearon received his PT degree from The Ohio State University in 1978. He founded Phoenix Manual Therapy, which has run since 1986 with an interruption for teaching in several fellowship programs. He earned his Full Fellowship status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy by the challenge process in 1999. He has been a guest instructor and adjunct faculty member for multiple universities across the country. Dr. Fearon currently practices in an outpatient private practice specializing in orthopedic manual therapy and spinal rehabilitation where he has been for the last 30 years.

Seth Peterson, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, FAAOMPT

Seth Peterson is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). He is a full-time clinician and owner of The Motive, a private practice in Oro Valley, AZ, where he has mentored residents and fellows. Seth has 30 peer-reviewed publications and has co-authored monographs and textbook chapters on differential diagnosis in addition to his role as Associate Editor for JOSPT Cases. He has been awarded the Emerging Leader twice, by APTA and AAOMPT. Seth is also the founder of The Movement Brainery and hosts several podcasts, including "Masters in Motion," "Hands on/Hands off" and "Thoughtlight."

Pablo Ruiz, PT

Pablo Ruiz, P.T. received his undergraduate degree from The University of Connecticut in 1982. From 1986- 1989, Pablo relocated from Arizona to California to participate in and graduate from Folsom Physical Therapy’s Long term study in the Kaltenborn-Evjenth Nordic system of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Pablo was an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University from 1992-2001 teaching students a pre-physical therapy course titled "Introduction to Physical Therapy." Pablo has been practicing orthopedic manual therapy for 35 years and is currently practicing in Goodyear, AZ at his private practice, White Tanks Physical Therapy and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, LLC. He is an integral piece of the Intentional Exercise Course with The Movement Brainery and has been assisting the faculty at Phoenix Manual Therapy since 2016 with the short courses and long term study curriculums.
